Georgia Northwestern Technical College’s Leadership Team 3 Community Development has joined with the Greater Rome Society of Human Resource Management to conduct a Cell Phones for Soldiers drive.

According to a press release:

This community project is a way of supporting and assisting our troops in calling home.

More than 150,000 troops are serving overseas. Cell Phone for Soldiers is an opportunity for all Americans to support the troops by donating old cell phones.

A donation of an old cell phone is recycled and the proceeds are used to purchase calling cards for troops so they can stay connected with their families.

Those who wish to donate an old phone should remove the battery or chip to clear the memory.

Donation boxes are located on each campus:

GNTC Floyd County campus building A Receptionist Area

GNTC Gordon County campus building 100 receptionist area and building 300 room 314

GNTC Polk County Campus building B receptionist area

GNTC Walker County Campus building 500 upstairs lobby

This drive will end on Veterans Day, Nov. 11.
