Retired tennis pro Cliff Richey will conduct a tennis clinic at the Cherokee Country Club in Cedartown at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 12.

Across the county, former Major League Baseball pitcher Ralph Terry will hold a baseball clinic at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 11 at Nathan Dean Sports Complex in Rockmart.

Terry is arriving to the community that Monday and staying with Chuck Wright, the general manager at Cherokee Country Club in Cedartown.

Wright explained that both men are going to be in the community for most of the week as part of the formal dinner that the country club holds as a fundraiser.

In addition to his sports clinic, Richey will give a speech about clinical depression with members of local civic organizations at a by-invitation lunch at the country club.

Richey, in cooperation with his daughter, Hilaire Kallendorf, wrote a book on the subject, "Set Up, Break Down: A Father/Daughter Memoir of Celebrity Sports and Clinical Depression."

For more information on either of the public events, call Wright at the country club at 770-748-2800; or reach him by cell phone, 678-333-4221.
