The public hearings take place prior to the regular monthly meeting. The commission will hear brief comments in support and also any in opposition to the proposals. A decision on both issues may be made later during the regular meeting.
Public hearings scheduled are:
A) A proposal to expand the boundaries of the Downtown Development Authority in Cedartown;
B) A conditional use request, filed by Nina Jackson, for a proposed daycare center at 201 Prior Station Road. The property now has an industrial zoning.
In other business tonight, the commission has the following delegations listed on the agenda to make presentations:
A) Debra Hansard and Cherri Worsham, speaking on behalf of Lynn Ingram, of 254 E. Girard Ave., regarding sewer issues;
B) Max Barber, who has requested that an alley at West Gibson Street be closed;
C) George Anderson, of Rome, on behalf of his non-profit organization, Ethics in Government, regarding "the city charter, codes and state laws";
D) A presentation will also be made regarding a proclamation for Parkinson Disease Awareness Month.

Unfinished business
A) Owner of Amoco Food Mart, 804 East Ave., and his attorney, opportunity to express concerns regarding an alcohol license requested for the business (The alcohol license request was tabled at the March meeting);
B) Approval of an ordinance to change the residency criteria for the Planning Commission. (The city ordinance now requires members to reside in the city. At the March meeting, commissioners tabled a proposal to open service on the board to county residents who own city property/businesses).
New business
A) Nina Jackson's conditional use request will be subject to a vote;
B) Decision regarding whether to expand the Downtown Development Authority boundaries;
C) The city's solid waste contract (garbage pickup) is up for renewal;
D) A proposed Water Shed Protection Management Plan will be presented by Catherine Fox, Fox Environmental, who was hired by the city to draft a plan to comply with state regulations;
E) Bids are to be considered for city-owned property;
F) Commissioner Johnny Barrett has introduced a proposal to restripe AT&T Drive;
G) Bids for a "spray patcher" for the street department;
H) Bids for the installation of a liquid rubber roof at the city's wastewater plant;
I) Bids for the installation of a filtration system for the water filtration plant;
J) Bids for a "grasshopper mower" for the city's parks and cemetery department;
K) A resolution will be considered recognizing Georgia Cities Week.
An executive session (closed portion of the meeting) may be called at the end of other business if necessary to discuss personnel matters, litigation or real estate matters.
