Mr. Dwayne Arthur Leifheit, 63, of Silver Creek, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2010.

He was born in Aurora, Ill. on July 6, 1946, son of the late Arthur Eugene Leifheit and the late Elizabeth Tressa Hill Leifheit. He was an active member of the Pleasant Hope Baptist Church. Prior to retirement, he worked for a number of years as a manufacturing engineer at HON Industries.

Survivors include his wife, the former Joy Stewart; a daughter, Jennifer Leifheit Little and her husband, Tres, of Marietta; two sons, Jonathan Leifheit and his wife, Deborah, of Marietta, and Jeremy Leifheit and his wife, Leanne, of Charlotte, N.C.; three grandchildren; a brother, Ervin Leifheit, of Surprise, Ariz.; a brother-in-law, John Patterson, of Oswego, Ill.; several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services were held on Saturday, Feb. 20, at 5 p.m., at Pleasant Hope Baptist Church, with Rev. Jerry Brooks and Dr. Mike Jones officiating. Members of Pleasant Hope Baptist Church served as honorary pallbearers.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be made to the Pleasant Hope Baptist Church, P.O. Box 183, Silver Creek, GA 30173, or to the Christian Counseling Center/Rome Pregnancy Center, 100 Redmond Road, Rome, GA 30165.

Henderson and Sons Funeral Home had charge of the funeral arrangements.
