The Rockmart High School football team has somewhat rebuilt itself into a winning team. They took a fourth quarter win over Coosa on Friday, Oct. 9. The final score was Rockmart-18, Coosa Eagles-12.

Coosa came out strong getting an early touchdown in the first and another early in the second putting the score at Coosa-12, Rockmart-0 going into the half. A key play in the second came from Brown as he blocked a 13-yard field goal with 3:20 left in the first half. Coosa lost momentum as Rockmart’s second half team came out to win.

Rockmart defense in the second half proved a new one as well as big stops came epically from sophomore Joseph Lockley (#59) and Brown as they caused Coosa to punt away any chance they had to score.

Don't get your hopes up cause of a couple wins. Think the QB took it into his on hands and run a couple plays that wasn't called, is the only reason Rockmart scored what they did against Coosa. Rockmart Coaching staff will be really explored this week when Pepperell comes a knocken. Please hire a new Varsity Football Coach at Rockmart!!! Booster Club needs to get on the stick and help out with the process also.
