Two people sustained injuries in two separate wrecks reported this morning.

According to emergency officials, cleanup from the most recent wreck involving a fire truck at Highway 278 and Lumpkin Road is finishing up now. That crash occurred around 6:15 a.m. and sent one person by ambulance to Polk Medical Center. There is no more information available about the injured or their condition.

The wreck happened when a fire truck was headed to a house fire on Lumpkin Road, Polk County Fire Department officials said. Fire officials also said the injured person was not a fireman and a report detailing the accident would not be available for a week.

Emergency officials said the wreck also involved a tractor trailer.

Fire officials said they sent other crews to the house fire and it was successfully extinguished with no injuries. That report, containing details of the blaze, has not yet been filed with the office.

An earlier crash around midnight sent one person to the hospital, according to Georgia State Patrol (GSP) officials. That wreck, involving a haul trailer full of chickens, happened on Highway 278 North, but no other details were available.

A third crash was reported this morning, according to the GSP. That one occurred around 7:17 a.m. at Highway 278 at Meers Furniture and involved a pick-up truck. There were no injuries.
