Man arrested after trying to avoid DUI checkpoint, police say

A Silver Creek man remains jailed this morning on felony drug and gun charges after he was found trying to avoid a DUI checkpoint late Thursday, reports stated.

According to reports from the Floyd County Jail:

Eric Henry Kiser, 34, of 3291 Old Rockmart Road in Silver Creek, was charged with felony possession of methamphetamines.

Police say he tried to avoid a road check, and was found with a firearm in his vehicle after he was stopped on Walker Mountain Road.

He remains jailed this morning without bail on the felony charges of possession of methamphetamines and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, along with one count of misdemeanor driving under the influence of drugs.
