Polk County receives needed rain

Rainfall from the storm that passed through the Cedartown and Rockmart areas Wednesday left close to 2 inches of rain.

Measurements from two rain gauges monitored by The Rockmart Journal were 1.85 inches and 1.9 inches.

The Rome area also recorded 1.85 inches from the same weather system.

More rain was possible this afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.
