The Cedartown City Commission meets at 7 tonight at Cedartown City Hall, 201 East Ave.

Items on the agenda include a public hearing, at the start of the meeting, regarding a proposal to continue operation of the citywide transit system.

City commissioners indicated strong support for the idea at a special meeting held June 25. Grant money has been obtained through the Georgia Department of Human Resources, totaling $13,993.34, which will allow the operation of a single bus.

The Coosa Valley Regional Development Center also chipped in $2,000, which will cover most of the fuel cost for a year. The bus will operatie only within the Cedartown city limits.
