Rockmart firm earns $37 million military contract

Engineered Fabrics Corp. of Rockmart is being awarded a $37,594,477 firm-fixed-price contract by the U.S. Department of Defense to provide fuel cells for a military aircraft, the DOD announced Friday.

The fuel cells will be used in the center wing, aft, forward and upper desk positions of the C/KC-135. The primary function of the fuel cell is to store fuel for use during flight.

This work will be complete May 2009, according to terms of the contract.
