Pre-trial hearings continued in case of former Polk officer

Pre-trial hearings scheduled for Friday morning in the case of a former Polk County Police Department captain have been postponed, according to a spokesperson for Judge Walter E. Johnson.

Barry Wallace, 40, of Cedartown, has been charged with knowingly receiving, possessing, concealing, storing and disposing of firearms he knew to be stolen while a member of the Polk County police force.

He was scheduled to appear in U.S. District Court in Rome Friday for a pre-trial hearing to outline the issues of the case and set time frames for legal and procedural matters.

No new date for the hearings have been set.
