Over 500 local residents pounded the pavement in downtown Cedartown Saturday, April 19 as they participated in the Parkinson's Walk for Hope.

The event raised over $15,000 in a little over two months for Parkinson's support groups in Northwest Georgia.

The walk began at the Cedartown Depot and made its way to Northside Elementary. A short ceremony was held at the halfway mark at the Polk County Courthouse.

Cedartown residents, Johnny and Jennifer Hulsey organized the event.
