Jury selection began today in Polk Superior Court in the murder trial of Desic Kathorio “Lil Boo” Webb, of Covington, who is being charged in the January 4, 2005, death of Koi E. Sanders of 2625 Collard Valley Road.

Sanders, who was 19 at the time, was found shot in a residential area of Cedartown at the corner of South Martiele Street and Cleo Street, close to the Eastview Baptist Church, according to reports from Polk County Coroner Trey Litesey.

Information provided by the Cedartown Police Department stated that Webb was arrested in Atlanta by members of the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force.

Webb’s arrest followed what police referred to as “extensive informant interviews and persistent police work.”

He was transported by the Fugitive Task Force to the Polk County Jail where he was held without bond.

An autopsy revealed that Sanders died after being shot once in the abdomen, Litesey explained.

Cedartown Police Det. Anthony Bowman reported that the two individuals knew each other prior to the shooting.

The Cedartown Police Department was assisted in the investigation by numerous agencies including the GBI, Polk County Police Department and the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
