Cedartown police are investigating what caused the collision of a Polk County school bus and a passenger vehicle Wednesday afternoon, according to Cedartown Assistant Police Chief Jamie Newsome.

The wreck occurred around 3:45 p.m. at an intersection at the south end of the bypass near the Armory. Bus 27-06 was full of children at the time, Newsome said.

Three students sustained minor injuries, including complaints of neck and back pain and a shortness of breath, he said. Parents of those children were called and the three were taken to Polk Medical Center. The bus continued to take the rest of the students home and suffered no damage, Newsome said.

There were no injuries in the passenger vehicle, he said.

The accident occurred when the bus attempted to make a left turn onto Highway 27 South.
