The following is a list of events going on in and around Polk County today, March 21:

1. The Cedartown Senior Citizen Nutrition Center located next to Bert Wood Park has activities Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Seniors 55 and older may participate in activities. Seniors 60 and older may participate in activities as well as nutritional meals and trips.

2. Heartland Hospice offers “A Time of Healing” a bereavement group that gives participants the opportunity to learn about the natural grieving process, share experiences and learn in a group setting how to manage and cope wit grief. The group meets the third Thursday of every month from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the Covenant Cathedral Cedar Lake Christian Center, 1890 Rome Hwy, Cedartown. 3. The Rockmart Civic Arts Commission 316 N. Piedmont Ave., Bldg. 300, Rockmart, holds drawing classes on Mondays and Thursdays from 5:30-7:30 p.m. with Instructor Kathy Torres for ages 13 and up. Classes are $12 per session. For more information, call 706-266-7554.

4. Allison and Connie Shaw will once again be collecting donated prom dresses for Polk County students. Anyone with a new or gently used prom dress can donate by contacting Allison Shaw at 678-988-3710 or Connie Shaw at 770-749-1083.
