One house was demolished and 14 others damaged in Monday night's storm, according to Polk County Safety Director Randy Lacey.

Lacey said a tour of the county showed a lot of downed trees over power lines and roadways and many road and power crews working to clear roads and restore power.

The latest figures from Georgia Power show that there are 950 residents still without power in the Northwest Georgia area -- 550 of those are in Polk County. Rome still has 340 without power.

He said one house was left unlivable. That home is in the Fountain Heights neighborhood in Rockmart. Lacey said that area was struck especially hard.

Cedartown didn't have any buildings that were damaged, although there are many residents without power, he said.

The remaining 14 homes were scattered throughout the county, Lacey said. Those homes had mostly roof damage.
