This includes the Felton Community, Highway 27 South, south of Dugdown Mountain Road and in and around Bethlehem Church Road.
Other areas include Old Yorkville Hwy, Hwy 278 East of Coots Lake Rd, Williams St, Braswell Mountain Rd, Eastern Ave, Jacob Trail, Delta Lane, The Hamlett Subdivision including Stonecrest Dr, Stonecrest Court, Ashton Court and Ashwood Court.
This does not include the city of Cedartown, Rockmart or Aragon.
Service interruption caused by power failure to the county's water system has caused low pressure in parts of the system to drop to dangerous levels, officials said. When this occurs, a potential health hazard may exist in these areas of zero pressure from backflow or back-siphonage of water with unknown quality levels.
All county water residents in the above mentioned areas that have expereienced power outages or low water pressure are advised to boil all water prior to use for drinking, cooking or preparing baby food.
Water should be boiled at least one minute after reaching a rolling boil.
Officials say that residents affected should boil water until further notice. According to a press release issued by the water authority, "citizens should continue boiling water until advised by the authority that the system has been restored to full operation and microbiological quality of the water in the system is safe for human consumption."
Emergency officials were headed this morning out to evaluate the damage throughout the county, according to Polk County EMA administrative assistant Kattie Trammell.
She is urging everyone to stay off the roads until damage can be assessed and the roads cleared because there are many unsafe roads at the moment.
Trammell said the hardest hit area of the county was the Cave Spring Road and Prior Street areas near Cedartown.
Cedartown Fire Chief Sammy Stephens said the areas of Philpot Street and Highland Avenue remain closed due to downed trees. He said the fire department responded to 15 calls Monday night, ranging from fallen trees to lightning strikes and welfare checks.
Firefighters also assisted Polk County Volunteer firefighters in a fatal crash on Cave Spring Road, which killed a Rome man identified as James Agan.
Agan suffered fatal injuries when a tree fell on his vehicle, according to officials.
Polk County Safety Director Randy Lacey said Agan's son, who was in the vehicle at the time of the accident, sustained non life-threatening injuries.
He said a separate incident on Pinecrest Road near Cedartown left a woman with minor injuries. The woman, who remains unidentified, was in her living room when a tree fell on her house, Lacey said.
