The following is a list of events going on in and around Polk County this weekend, March 16-17

Satuday

1. The Davitte Masonic Lodge No. 513 of Aragon will hold a panake breakfast from 7 until 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 16

2. The Robinson Family Reunion is planned for March 16 at 12 noon. The reunion will be held at The Women's Building in Cedartown. Family is asked to bring a covered dish, old photos and your favorite recipe. For more information, call Anne Mason at 770-546-4785 or 770-546-0227

3. Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and Kirkwood Trails will hold a spring fling including yard sales at Kirkwood Trails, 133 Cason Road, on Saturday, March 16. Floyd and Redmond EMS services will set up tents to talk about health, Cedartown police will come to speak on public safety and Pam Davis Robinson from New Image, who will be doing hair washes and cut. Men's haircuts will be $10, Womens shampoo and cuts will be $15, Womens shampoo, cut and set are $18. All Money made at the beauty shop will go to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church to help rebuild the church from the April 2011 Tornado.

Sunday

1. Oak Grove Baptist Church, 1937 Rome Hwy, will celebrate its 117th anniversary on Sunday March 17. Morning worship will begin at 11 a.m. The guest musicians will include the Shaw Family and “T-Bone.” A covered dish meal will be shared at noon with singing and testimony to follow.

2. The Rockmart Civic Arts Commission 316 N. Piedmont Ave., Bldg. 300, Rockmart, holds Open studio oil painting classes Fridays and Sundays from 2:30 – 4:30 p.m. The cost is $15 per session. Please contact James Hill at 770-355-1535 if you plan to attend.

3. A Polk County Hunter Safety Course will be held at the JL Lester Wildlife Management area on March 17 from 3-5 p.m. Participants must pre-register at www.gohuntgeorgia.com or by calling 770-398-7275.
