The following is a list of events going on in and around Polk County this weekend: March 9-10:

Saturday

1. Rockmart Civic Arts Commission 316 N. Piedmont Ave., Bldg. 300, Rockmart,will the 2013 Gala, "Night at the Gallery" annual fundraiser Saturday, March 9, from 6-9 p.m. A variety of entertainment will be available including the Vaudevillains, Kira Annalise with Rex Garner, Colt Chambers, the Cast of “Nunsense” The Musical, and Rockmart Community Chorus with their special dedication to Karl Vancil in recognition of his many years of volunteerism and service to our community.

2. RCAC Theatre Chair, Director Margaret Jacobs and Rockmart High School Thespians present the “Young Frankenstein”, based on the book by Mel Brooks and Thomas Meehan with music and lyrics by Mel Brooks. The performance will be at The Arts Center Theatre, 116 East Elm Street, Rockmart, on March 9 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $6 in advance or $8 at the door. Sunday

1. Anna Kresge United Methodist Chruch, 15 Booger Hollow Road, Cedartown, will hold breakfast at 9:30 a.m., Sunday school classes at 10 a.m. and worship service at 10:55 a.m. every Sunday.

2. Abundance of Praise C.M.E. Church will hold a “Church in the Park” program every second and fourth Sunday of each month. The program will start at 11 a.m. and is located at 254 Turner St., Cedartown.

3. Freedom Baptist Church, 770 Huntington Rd., Cedartown, invites everyone to join in a “Read the Bible For Life” class every Sunday at 6 p.m.
