A local man is now charged in the January homicide of a Rockmart teen, according to police.

According to a Rockmart Police Department (RPD) press release, Demon Eugene Wilson, 33, faces charges in the shooting death of Desmond “Bud” Kinnemore, 19, of Rockmart.

Kinnemore’s body was found January 8 in a ditch on Morgan Valley Road at the Second Street intersection in Rockmart.

Wilson is charged with malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, according to the RPD press release. He also faces another count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, according to jail records.

According to police, Wilson was a Rockmart resident but Polk County Jail records list his address as 77 Wheeler Road, Cedartown.

Polk County police officers arrested Wilson Jan. 16 and he has been in jail without bond since, according to jail records. RPD officials said that arrest was on unrelated charges.

Officials also state Wilson is the subject of an ongoing federal firearms investigation. Several agencies involved with the investigation are following leads and more arrests may follow, according to local police officials.

The investigation into Kinnemore’s death involved several agencies with RPD taking the lead on the case. Police officials said the local police department received assistance from the Polk County Criminal Investigations Division, the Polk County Narcotics Enforcement Team (NET), the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

The Rockmart Police Department and the Polk County Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division encourage anyone with related information to contact Det. Are you in elementary school? Making fun of someone's name is just plain childish.

I'm glad law enforcement managed to catch him and hopefully get a conviction if he doesn't confess to keep the needle out of his arm. He will probably rat the rest of the bunch out that they are looking for to save himself from the death penalty.
