The following is a list of events going on in and around Polk County today, Feb. 5:

1. The Cedartown Senior Citizen Nutrition Center located next to Bert Wood Park has activities Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Seniors 55 and older may participate in activities. Seniors 60 and older may participate in activities as well as nutritional meals and trips.

2. The Rockmart Library hosts story time for children every Tuesday at 10:30 a.m..

3. The Polk School District Board of Education will meet in special session on Tuesday, Feb. 5 for a community input session at 6 p.m. in the central office.

4. The Rockmart Civic Arts Commission 316 N. Piedmont Ave., Bldg. 300, Rockmart, holds open studio pottery classes on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 6:30-8:30 p.m. with Instructor Paul Craighead. Classes are $15 per session. For more information call 706-843-5302.
