A Cedartown home was destroyed but no one was injured after a fire broke out shortly after 10 a.m. Thursday, according to fire officials.
The Cedartown Fire Department first responded to the blaze at 309 Alice St., Cedartown, according to Fire Chief Sammy Stephens.
The CFD called the Polk County Volunteer Fire Department for mutual aid assistance when firefighters found the home fully engulfed in flames, he said.
The resident was not home at the time of the blaze and there were no injuries, Stephens said.
Stephens said the cause of the fire has not been determined, but he expects to have some information regarding the cause by the end of today.
