The following is a list of events going on in and around Polk County today, Oct. 25:

1. Early voting in Polk County began Oct. 15 and continues through Nov. 2 Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Cedartown Elections Office, 144 West Ave., Cedartown, and the Nathan Dean Community Center, 604 Goodyear Av. Rockmart.

2. The Cedartown Parks and Recreation Authority offers line-dancing lessons from 6-8 p.m. every Thursday in the Christian Center located at 605 Lanton Drive.

3. The Polk School District Board of Education will hold a special session meeting on Thursday, Oct. 25 at 6:30 p.m. in the central office.

4. The Cedartown United Fund food pantry is in desperate need of non-perishable food items or monetary donations for the purchase of groceries to purchase food for needy individuals in Polk County. Donations can be made at 345 S. College St. Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to noon or by calling 770-748-1215 to request a different drop off time.
