A two-vehicle wreck shortly before 5:30 p.m. Tuesday briefly slowed traffic on Rockmart Highway near Lombardy Way in Rome.

One person was taken to the hospital by ambulance in a non-emergency mode.

According Rome Police Pfc. Israel Alamia:

A blue Ford Escape driven by Casandra Ely, 27, of Silver Creek, and a white Infinity driven by Karen Clark, 44, of Rockmart, were both heading into Rome on Rockmart Highway.

The Escape changed lanes near Lombardy Way, striking the passenger side door of the Infinity. A passenger in the Infinity, Rhiannon Childers of Rockmart, was transported for treatment. Neither Floyd nor Redmond medical centers had her listed as a patient late Tuesday.

Ely was cited for making an improper lane change.
