Love Loud, a back to school celebration, will be held Friday, Aug. 17, on the Goodyear Campus of Crossview Community Church, Rockmart.

The event is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. and will conclude a week of caring activities hosted by the local church.

Plans are to serve breakfast to the faculty and staff at Eastside, Van Wert, Rockmart middle and high schools this week.

In addition, police, fire, EMS and Rockmart City staff will receive the same attention.

“It is our way of saying thank you and showing that we care about these individuals,” said Crossview Pastor Danny Echols.

He said Friday’s event would be a time of showing love to the community by providing free haircuts, games and inflatables for the kids, food – barbecue, hot dogs - and more.

Live music will also be presented and activities will be climaxed with the showing of a family friendly movie.

“It is a fun way to celebrate the end of summer and help families prepare for back to school,” Echols said. “We invite everyone in the community to join us.”

In previous years, volunteers from Crossview Church participated in Community Makeover. They would take part in several days of helping repair homes, cutting grass or other needed chores for local people.

That event was moved from July to October this year. Therefore, leaders in the church decided to do something different prior to the first day of school on August 24.

Proceeds from the Homespun 5K run helps the church to sponsor the Love Loud event, according to Pastor Echols.
