According to a press release, the results for the spring 2012 EOCT's for Polk School District showed an increase in the number of students who met or exceeded standards in seven of the eight tests over 2011 scores. A slight decrease was noted in Math II.
Ninth Grade Literature Polk School District: 81 percent pass rate (a two percent increase over 2011)
Sate results: 84 percent pass rate
American Literature Polk School District: 89 percent pass rate (a five percent increase over 2011)
State results: 89 percent pass rate
Biology Polk School District: 76 percent pass rate (an increase of 12 percent)
State results: 73 percent pass rate
Physical Science Polk School District: 74 percent pass rate (results stayed the same from 2011)
State results: 77 percent pass rate
U.S. History Polk School District: 65 percent pass rate (an increase of four percent)
State results: 68 percent
Economics Polk School District: 78 percent pass rate (an increase of eight percent)
State results: 77 percent pass rate
Math I Polk School District: 58 percent pass rate (a two percent increase)
State results: 65 percent pass rate
Math II Polk School District: 41 percent pass rate (a two percent decrease from 2011 scores)
State results: 54 percent pass rate
The report stated that EOCT results are used as one of four factors of high school success on the College and Career REdy Performance Index replacing the Georgia High school Graduation Test and NCLB's Adequate Yearly Progress, AYP.
