The Brunswick News reports that storm damage so far has been minimal in Glynn County. County Emergency Management Agency Director Jay Wiggins says there have been some sporadic power outages.
The storm downed trees in St. Marys on Monday, damaging a car and a gift shop in the city's downtown area.
The National Park Service on Monday canceled the 9 a.m. ferry to Cumberland Island National Seashore because a band of severe thunderstorms threatened the area. Superintendent Fred Boyles said all campers were taken off the island until further notice because of the continued threat Debby poses to the region.
