The Cedartown T.E.A. Party is hosting a candidate forum on Saturday, June 23 beginning at 11 am at Peek Park. The forum is open to all candidates on the ballot in Polk County this election cycle. Candidates will be offered a 3-minute opening statement describing their background and why they are seeking public office. Questions will be posed by the moderator and audience as time permits. Candidates will be afforded a 3-minute closing statement as well. Candidate supporters are welcome to bring signs, literature and wear candidate apparel. However, no monetary solicitation will be permitted. Use of Peek Park has been approved by the Cedartown City Commission. Strict order and respect for public property will be maintained.

The event is scheduled to conclude by 12:30 pm. This event fulfills one of the Tea Party tenets of voter education. The local Tea Party will not be endorsing candidates but will serve to present candidate ideas for a more enlightened electorate. As always, the event is open to all political parties and independents.

For more information, please feel free to contact Larry Tolbert, founder of the Cedartown T.E.A. Party, at 770-748-0396 or via email at tolbert2@bellsouth.net.
