The HON Company, which has a facility in Cedartown, has made a $150,000 donation to the Coosa Valley Technical College Foundation’s Education For Work campaign.

The campaign is a five year investment plan designed to enhance economic development through workforce education in Floyd, Gordon, and Polk counties. The campaign has so far raised about $2.5 million.

“Donations like the one from the HON Company are the only way that we can grow the college,” said college President Craig McDaniel. “I think it’s an indication of the partnership that we’ve been able to build, a partnership that is mutually beneficial. CVTC provides training for HON and HON supports Coosa Valley Technical College with advice, guidance and financial support. It’s just a great relationship.”

“Coosa Valley Technical College has done a great job in our community by supporting manufacturers like The HON Company with job and economic growth,” said Todd Murphy, vice president of manufacturing for the Cedartown HON facility.

The HON Company designs and manufactures workplace furniture including chairs, files, panel systems and desks.
