Federal sequestration has taken a bite out of the 2014 budget of the Rockmart Library.
Sharon Cleveland, branch manager, made this point in an address to Rockmart city council members. She lobbied for an increase in the total the group provides for the annual operation of the library.
Current local revenues for the proposed 2014 library budget include: $58,960, Polk County Board of Commissioners; $4,000, Polk School District and $67,730, City of Rockmart. Expenditures listed are $77,602 full time and $12,818, part time staff; payroll taxes and expenses, $45,210.
