Mrs. Watson

Mrs. Willie Mae Staples Watson, 89, of Rockmart, passed away Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012.

She was the daughter of the late Jim and Louise Staples.

Mrs. Watson was educated in the Polk County School system. She worked as a house keeper for many families in the Rockmart area and was employed in the Polk County school system as a cafeteria worker until her retirement.

She confessed Christ at an early age and joined the Zion Hill First Missionary Baptist Church, Rockmart GA. Mrs. Watson sang in the Choir, served as faithful church member and was on the Mother Board.

She was united in holy matrimony to the late William "Bo" Watson and to this union five children were born. Mrs. Watson was a widow at an early age and worked diligently to provide for her family. She was a strong woman, mother and friend.

Funeral Services were held Wednesday, Sept. 12 at the Zion Hill 1st Baptist Church at 3 p.m. Interment followed at Westview Cemetery.

She leaves to cherish her memories two daughters, Annie Brown (Douglas) and Ruby Rowland (Jerry); seven sisters, one brother, 14 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephew, cousins and other relatives and friends.
