Mrs. Mary Sue Hopper Jones, 74, of the Jackson’s Chapel Community, Cedartown, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013.

She was born on Oct. 5, 1938 in Cedartown, the daughter of the late Alex Hopper and Mary Lou Shaw Hopper.

Mrs. Jones had worked for the Georgia Farm Bureau as office manager and retired after 34 plus years of dedicated service. She was a long time member of the New Harmony Baptist Church where she was a member of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class and the Young at Heart.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobbie Jones.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Anita and Scott Jackson; sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis Jones, Doug and Terry Jones and Mark and Jenny Jones; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and a number of cousins.

Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, Jan. 23 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of the Lester C. Litesey Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Wolfe and Dr. DeWayne New officiating.

Interment followed in the Jackson Chapel Cemetery.

Mrs. Jones’ grandsons served as pallbearers.
