He was born on June 4, 1936 in Cobb County, the son of the late Dewey Knight and the late Maidie Hertage Knight.
Mr. Knight was a mechanic having worked for Brooke’s Garage, Richard Wynn Pontiac-Buick-GMC, Days Chevrolet and most recently at Teems Automotive Service and was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by a son, James (Jim) Emmett Knight Jr. on July 7, 2012.
Survivors include his wife, Delores Costella Stoker Knight of Acworth; daughter, Kimberly Ann Buttram of Acworth; three brothers, Dewey Knight Jr. of Canton, Charles Knight and Hugh Lee Knight both of Kennesaw; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and extended relatives also survive.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, Jan. 31 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Freeman Harris Funeral Home with Rev. Owen (Bud) Davis Jr. officiating.
Interment followed in the family lot of the Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery of Paulding County.
The following gentlemen served as pallbearers: Dustin McDaniel, Randy Smith, Matthew Smith, Darrell Knight, Dennis Buttram and Randall Martin.
