DOTHAN, Ala. (AP) — Authorities arrested a woman in southeast Alabama after a remark about shooting prompted a security lockdown at an elementary school.

Police say 55-year-old Glendell Ruth Hasan is charged with making a terrorist threat, which is a felony.

The Dothan Eagle reports the woman was dropping off a child at Faine Elementary School in Dothan when a confrontation occurred Tuesday.

Records show police charged Hasan with telling a teacher's aide: "They can shoot up this whole school as far as I care." The school was then placed under a lockdown for about an hour.

Dothan Superintendent Tim Wilder says the statement came after employees refused to let Hasan through a school door and told her to use the proper entrance.

Hasan's lawyer didn't immediately return a message seeking comment.
