The following is a list of events going on in and around Polk County today, Oct. 11:

1. The Cedartown Library is currently holding a book this week.

2. The Compassion Building is planning an October fund-raiser called Cans for Bail. A Compassionate Breakout Card can be purchased for $10 ahead of time to avoid being “arrested” (limit 50). The event will be held 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11.
