The following is a list of events going on in and around Polk County today, Dec. 20:

1. The Cedartown Senior Citizen Nutrition Center located next to Bert Wood Park has activities Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Seniors 55 and older may participate in activities. Seniors 60 and older may participate in activities as well as nutritional meals and trips.

2. The Cedartown library also hosts story time for children every Thursday at 11 a.m..

3. The Cedartown Parks and Recreation Authority offers line-dancing lessons from 6-8 p.m. every Thursday in the Christian Center located at 605 Lanton Drive.

4. AARP Tax-aide seeks Rockmart and Cedartown volunteers to help taxpayers who are seeking assistance in preparing and filing their 2012 tax returns. Volunteers do not need to be an AARP member or retiree to participate. Volunteers should have some computer or management experience.
