The following is a list of events going on in and around Polk County today, Aug. 10:

1. The Cedartown Senior Citizen Nutrition Center located next to Burt Wood Park has activities Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Seniors 55 and older may participate in activites. Seniors 60 and older may participate in activities as well as nutritional meals and trips.

2. Tallatoon and the USDA will hold an end of the year summer lunch program at Peeks Park on Friday, Aug. 10 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. This is a free event for kids ages 1 to 18-years-old. Popcorn, cake and more will be available. For more information, call 770-748-1675.

3. The Kiwanis Club of Cedartown meets every Friday at 12:15 p.m. at Cherokee Country Club.
