Officials from the Polk School District made this call this morning around 6 a.m. for "school as usual."

Weather forecasters were calling for the possiblity of ice and freezing rain this morning -- Polk County saw neither overnight.

However, there is still a slight chance for icy precip to fall.

Today's forecast from the National Weather Service calls for a slight chance of rain or freezing rain before 10 a.m., then rain likely. Cloudy, with a high near 39. Southeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming southwest in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New ice accumulation of less than a 0.1 of an inch possible.
