A Rockmart man is recovering from a shooting Friday night while police are trying to answer a host of questions.

According to Polk County Police Department officials, a shooting on Dec. 7 in the area of Seaboard Street, Rockmart, left Terrence Stocks, 32, of Rockmart, injured.

Stocks injuries were not life threatening and he was treated and released from a local hospital, according to Det. B. Brady of the PCPD.

According to a department press release, county officers were called to the area after someone reported shots fired. Police found Stocks, injured, on the scene, according to the release.

Investigators have several leads they are following, according to the release. However, Brady said they do not have a definitive suspect or motive for the shooting.

Rockmart police also assisted at the scene, but the county is taking the lead in the investigation because the address of the reported incident is actually in the county, according to Rockmart Police Chief Keith Sorrells.

The press release stated that the PCPD would also like to thank the Cedartown Police Department’s K-9 Unit, Rockmart Police Department and the Polk County Sheriff’s Department for the additional assistance that was provided at this location.

The PCPD and its Criminal Investigation Division encourages anyone with related information to please contact Detective B. Brady @ (678) 246-5132 or bbrady@polkga.org.

All information will be held in confidence.
