Third Grade students at Northside Elementary School went to visit the Six Mile Rock Quarry in Rome last Friday.

The field trip was a celebration for the completion of third grade’s unit on rock and minerals. Each student got to learn what a rock quarry is, how rocks are used every day and got a school bus tour of the rock quarry.

The employees of the six mile rock quarry wgave each student their own hard hats, goodie bags, and snacks. Each student also had the opportunity to bring home a rock from the quarry.
