Cedartown Assistant Police Chief Jamie Newsome identified the victim as Davares Frazier, 34, of Cedartown.
Frazier was crossing the street on South Main Street in front of Grand's Food Store around 2 p.m. when he was struck by a SUV driven by a local 93-year-old man.
Newsome said Frazier's family told him that he is in a regular room at a Rome hospital. Frazier has several broken bones and bruising, but should recover, according to the family.
The driver of the Mercury Mountaineer striking Frazier will not be charged, Newsome said.
