ATLANTA — Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal has named one new Cabinet agency head and reassigned another.

Gregory Dozier is the governor's new prison commissioner. Dozier had served as commissioner of the Department of Driver Services, for both Deal and his predecessor Sonny Perdue. Before that job, Dozier had been director of accounting for the State Board of Pardons and Paroles.

He will lead a Department of Corrections that has oversight of state prisons, private prisons, state prisoners in local facilities and multiple programs for convicted offenders.

Robert Mikell has replaced Dozier in his old post at Drivers Services. That agency conducts driving tests for new licensees and issues all Georgia driver licenses. Mikell had served as Dozier's deputy at the department since 2007.
