The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Chasity Jones entered the guilty plea Friday in the January 2011 death of Senior Officer Gail Thomas.
The newspaper reported Jones also pleaded guilty to one count of failure to obey the directions of an officer.
Friday's hearing had to be moved to a larger courtroom to accommodate a large number of law enforcement officers in attendance, which included Atlanta Police Chief George Turner, Fulton County Sheriff Ted Jackson and Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard.
Jones' sentencing hearing was continuing Friday afternoon.
