The Cedartown City Commission holds its regular monthly meeting at 7 tonight at Cedartown City Hall, 201 East Ave., Cedartown.
Items on the agenda include:
A public hearing on a proposed $500,000 Community Development Block Grant, to fund water and sewer infrastructure improvements in the areas of Central, Marietta and Thompson streets. This hearing will take place at 7 p.m. preceding other scheduled business.
There also is to be a public hearing on a conditional use request, filed by Jeremy Fulbright, for property between 407 and 411 East Gibson Street. According to his application, Fulbright wants to open a business, Good To Eat, LLC doing business as J&D's Food Mart. The property is zoned for I-2 (Heavy Industrial) purposes and a conditional use permit is needed for his plan to operate a "retail food mar and deli style prepared quick service restaurant."
A vote is scheduled later during the board's full meeting, under New Business.

DELEGATIONS
A) Pastor Lewis Clark will address the board to request the use of Peek Park on Saturday, Aug. 14, 2010 for a Feed the Children Youth Festival, a project of the Cedartown Ministerial Association;
B) Dave Grove will address the board about this fall's Wheelchair Race and Camp.
NEW BUSINESS
A) The board is to consider a change in fees for the use of water;
B) Pot hole repairs are to be discussed at the request of Commissioner Scotty Tillery;
C) Tillery also asked that an issue regarding city streets be on the agenda;
D) Commissioner Dale Tuck requested that the agenda include discussion of "committee appointment criteria."
A closed session may follow the regular meeting if needed. Georgia law allows the board to close meetings for discussion of personnel matters, ongoing litigation and real estate.
