Cedartown's junior varsity volleyball season is under way

The Cedartown High School junior varsity volleyball team got its season under way this week.

Playing three games, the young Lady Bulldogs were able to pick up one victory.

Cedartown visited Woodland High School on Monday, Aug. 20 for a play date against Woodland, Coosa, and Marietta.

The Lady Bulldogs lost to Marietta 25-8, 25-13 before playing more competitively in their next match.

“We were a lot more competitive against Woodland,” head coach Elisa Prewett said.

Cedartown lost the first match to Woodland 25-12, but bounced back to win the second match 25-13. Despite a strong effort, the Lady Bulldogs fell to the Lady Wildcats 26-24.

“The girls fought this out to the end,” Prewett said.

In their final game of the day, Cedartown defeated Coosa.

The Lady Bulldogs lost the first match 25-16, but bounced back to win the next two matches, 25-14 and 25-22.

Members of the junior varsity volleyball team this season are Jessica Cordero, Bryanna Lester, Lily Tran, Anna Lundy, Sabrina Dawson, Chynna Adams, Taylor Formby, Lauren Medina, D’Cole Garrett, Taylor Hester, and Savannah Bentley.
