The Cedartown Middle School football team had to wait two extra days to start the 2012 regular season, but that didn’t bother the young Bulldogs as they were more than ready for their season opener.

Playing two days later, Sept. 6 instead of Sept. 4, the middle school team whitewashed Coosa 38-0.

“We played a good game,” head coach Bob Tracy said. “We had very few mistakes.”

On Sept. 11, the young Bulldogs blanked Armuchee 12-0.

“We played well enough to win, but we had a lot of mistakes,” Tracy said. “We fumbled three times and I saw a lot of room for improvement.”

Cedartown will play their third game of the season on Tuesday, visiting Rockmart. Kick-off is slated for 4:45 p.m.

Tracy’s team will travel to Pepperell on Sept. 25 before returning home to play Chattooga on Oct. 2 and Model on Oct. 9.

The regular season will end on Oct. 16 when Cedartown visits Darlington. The top two teams in the league will play a championship game on Oct. 23.
