The game was held at the Cedartown High School softball complex last Saturday afternoon and featured a total of 44 alumni.
The contest was a slow-pitch affair, and teams played with 10 players on the field.
According to Cedartown High School head coach Jessica Sanders, the event this year was bigger than the 2011 version and her and Rockmart head coach Steve Luke anticipate the event growing bigger each year.
“We’ve added a lot more stuff this year,” Sanders said.
According to organizers, there was an auction, a cornhole tournament, along with lots of food, music, and tents.
The field, meanwhile, was filled with players who had spent their high school careers helping build both Cedartown and Rockmart into respectable programs.
Luke noted that the Rockmart program has 318 program wins, while Cedartown’s Cheryl Couch gave a speech about all the difficulties her and other players had to overcome in order to start a team in the early 1990’s.
